Health Prescribed Housing (HPH) is an innovative approach that bridges the gap between housing and healthcare. We reallocate capital to expand attainable and workforce housing, improve health outcomes, and address social determinants of health by leveraging investments from health insurers to reduce healthcare utilization costs. We believe that stable housing is a fundamental determinant of health and can lead to significant cost savings within the healthcare system. Our model targets high utilizers of healthcare—including individuals experiencing homelessness, transitional aged youth, those exiting the carceral system, domestic abuse survivors, and families in high-emission neighborhoods—by providing stable housing coupled with consistent healthcare access. This integrated approach reduces costly emergency department visits and hospital stays, leading to improved preventive care and better management of chronic conditions. Through data-driven frameworks, technology, and strategic partnerships, HPH aims to create a scalable and sustainable solution for the affordable housing and healthcare crises.
